Help this family
Let’s kick off the year with a heartwarming update and plans for the future!
We have such wonderful news about Michelle and her boys.
As you will remember we met Michelle back in February 2023 when she was living in a car.
There is such strength in community, and some wonderful people came alongside her, and along with funding help from Project Purpose and some private donors she was supported with rent for 6 months and Tshepang was able to enrol in school.
Tshepang has been attending Afrika House College for the past two years. There have been ups and downs, but we could not be prouder of this little family and their resilience.
Tshepang was really struggling academically at the beginning of last year, but with hard work and the group study lessons that he attended, he managed to pull his marks up remarkably.
We have his report card below.
He now stands a real chance at getting his matric at the end of this year. Michelle managed to get him a place in a government school for 2025, but he does need a sponsor to assist with his uniform, stationery, and transport costs to and from school.
Any help would make a meaningful difference in helping him reach this milestone!
Education is so important, it’s one of the greatest tools we have to break poverty cycles in families and to give young people a chance to reach their potential. From living in a car, to passing grade 11 and enrolled in matric… That’s what community can do! Thank you, thank you, for your investment in this young man’s future.
As for Michelle, she struggled with uterine fibroids which were totally crippling, and one of the reasons why she was down and out when we met her. Thankfully through the past two years, her health has improved, and she is now working running events, and has her own line of skincare/ beauty products that she’s busy launching. Her salary gets spread thin, but she has a roof over her and the boys’ heads.
Isaiah, the kid with just the best smile ever, still needs your help though. He was properly assessed by an educational psychologist, and he’s got severe learning disabilities. Isaiah has never been able to attend school but has an opportunity to go to Sparrow which is a school for kids just like him.

Unfortunately, the fees and transport costs are beyond Michelle’s financial means without a sponsor. If you know of an organization or individual who could sponsor Isaiah’s education this year, please reach out to us or donate using the link below.
Project Purpose can provide a section 18A certificate for tax purposes.
